A Real World Search Engine Optimization Example Of Ranking Progress

By Linda Greenthal

Listed below I have posted two search engine positioning evaluations for The Affinity Trading Group. To shield the privacy of my clients, I erased the search terms in which they position for. Yet, I do maintain the # of searches as that indicates the competition level and over-all search significance. While a great many folks fixate on positioning for high volume terms, myself included, one must always keep in mind that small volume keywords are just as good since they do make up a well characterized particular market versus the more generalized greater volume words and phrases and this greatly targeted traffic tends to be the person that's particularly seeking what you have to provide. To that note, as always, my goal is to rank nicely for each of the specified search terms as I do still focus regarding those biggies ;-)

The first file is an image overview of the report I ran at the end of August. Keep in mind that my Seo work with them began at the conclusion of July which means this August analysis provides approximately one month of Seo work. In July they ranked for merely a small number of words and phrases with those phrases ranking over 50 (1 being the initial spot on page 1 and 50 being the last area on page 5). So as you can see, within four weeks, I had been able to shift 14 words and phrases to the best 20 rankings with 5 of them getting best 10. I do not include search values on this document nevertheless I will say that their monthly query volumes ranged from 1,500 to 22,000.

As I start a brand-new task, I will not spend time trying to rank large value key phrases. I first pursue the lower level keywords for several reasons. 1) They will advance speedier consequently helping you to notice some traffic immediately and 2) The effort that is given to building up these lower level key phrases will drip down and eventually help the other higher size keyword phrases. Correct Search engine optimization is similar to constructing a house. You need to build a powerful foundation with lower level keywords and phrases, put up your walls using your mid level words so that you will have a dependable structure to hold and maintain your larger volume words (the roof).

Now let's advance in advance a few months into the ending of this month (November). After downloading the below rankings review, you can see that decent movement has been produced. In combination with getting more key phrases enter into the best 100 position, I was capable to improve the overall best twenty count to thirty six key words (previously 14) and the top 10 to 23 keywords and phrases (formerly five). I was as well able to position nicely for several high volume key words with one possessing a competitive 450,000 monthly search volume search term sitting nicely on the #11 position.

The 10-20 ranking placement is known as a hard position to move up in as it can certainly from time to time take months for higher quantity words and phrases to move from say a #15 to #9 or #10, nonetheless I still witness very good improvement with such phrases and in due time, they will likely get there. Similar to other things, the closer you get to the top, the less space there is.

On top of that, it is at this point where by Affinity experiences that their traffic ratio has leaned towards the side of search engine traffic meaning that +33% of their visitors are as a result of search engines (mainly Google) whilst the other 2/3 is arising from direct connections and web site referrals.
