Dealing With The Red Ring Of Death In Xbox

By Tiffany Windhurst

10% of all Xbox consoles are dealing with the so called "Red Ring of Death". This is a condition of the Xbox where you can see 3 red rings. It seems to me that Microsoft won't be fixing these issues because people will be spending money to get their Xbox repaired by the Xbox repair team.

If you are one of the 10% of the Xbox owners who are suffering from this condition, then you are only left with two options. The first option is to send the console back to Xbox repair team, which will cost you no less than a hundred bucks and not to mention the fee that will be charged to you by the courier service, PLUS a month of being away from your beloved Xbox unit. The other option is to repair it yourself, which won't require you to be a technician. All you need is the knowledge of what to do, and some basic tools to get rid of those 3 red rings in your Xbox.

Before you try to repair your Xbox and remove those rings, you should first understand why those rings appear in your console. Well, it is appearing because the X-clamp is working. It is a mechanism that conveys error messages graphically.

These red rings are showing up because the console is overheating. All you need to do is to free up some heat from the console, and it will be back on its feet after a few hours. You can do this be using a screwdriver, and a small knife to open the console and leave it there for a few hours.

Never ask for help from the repair team of Microsoft, because these red rings will appear again and again. All you have to do is to cool down the unit every time these "Red Rings of Death" appear. If you ask for help from Microsoft, you will be spending thousands of dollars just to have them repair your unit several times.
